wow!

I really find it hard to believe that the last post I wrote was in October! A lot has happened since then and the time has flown. Moving house, Christmas and a winter bug that likes me a little too much!
I don't know how others cope with their days, but I do know that Fibromyalgia affects us all in different ways. For me, the days just aren't long enough and that's not because my days are full of activities, but because it takes me a long while to fulfill the few jobs that I do accomplish in a day - everything takes longer, partly due to the pain, partly to the lack of energy.
I'm still in the process of moving house and I need to be ruthless in deciding what I want to keep and what I can let go of - it isn't easy!  It's my life!  Which part do I hang on to and will I miss it if I let it go. There are things packed away in boxes that I haven't looked at in years, but they belonged to my parents and grandparents. There are cards that have been sent by friends or relatives when I needed a kind or loving word to lift my spirits and I find that if I bring them out, they can still fill me with warmth and appreciation for the good things I've had in life - still have in my life.  I've learned that being grateful for those things - just the small day to day things that I can still enjoy - help me to cope with the more painful side of my life. Not just the ill health and the problems it brings, but the lack of understanding and compassion from the people in my life.
Another gift is my meditation and it has helped me enormously - it's my escape to peace, joy, self worth, gratitude, forgiveness and much more. I can escape from everyone and everything for a while, ten minutes or two hours - it helps me silence my mind and find me and there are so many free ones out there now.
IBS is the hardest for me to control and cope with, as it has a mind of it's own and whatever I try, nothing seems to help, but I will carry on researching and I'll not let it take away my smile. Another coping strategy!
I hope you are having a happy day - thank you for reading my post.
Namaste
